Annual Appreciation Day

DSACK hosts an elegant and FUN spring celebration to show our appreciation of families, sponsors and donors.  Stay tuned for details about our 2010 Appreciation Day.  Read below to find out more about last year’s event!

Spring has come, and so has another WONDERFUL Appreciation reception!! We held the reception at the Racquet Club Bar and Grill this year and it was awesome. From the company, to the food, to the music and the children, everyone enjoyed themselves.

The main reason for our reception was to celebrate and appreciate not only our family and our loved ones with Down syndrome, but all of the friends of DSACK who have spent time, energy or money to support our mission.

We honored our top Buddy Walk sponsors from 2008: McDonalds, The McCormicks, The Bridge‘s, Flav- O- Rich, Walmart,  David Carter Fine Arts,  Bank of Lexington, and Kohls of Nicholasville.

We also recognized all of the hard work that past Board members Becky Lesch and Ellen Fernandez have given to DSACK and our community over the past many years.  As both ladies stepped off the Board, they were recognized and appreciated on Sunday.

The 2nd annual Karen Boudreaux “Something Extra” Award was given to Brooke Reed for her work with the teen/young adult group. This award is given each year to an individual or business who has given “above and beyond”. It is DSACK’S version of an 110% award or MVP!

The entertainment was fabulous! Conor rocked it out!! He was lead singer/guitarist.  Joshua got into it as well, and soon they were jamming! It seems we have quite a few gifted musicians among DSACK!
