Healthy Movement Dance Class – an ongoing program offered by DSACK – provides children of all ages with the opportunity to get moving!

Partnering with Allegro Dance Project, the class incorporates physical activity with music. Twelve students each session combine dance positions, live music and physical activity to strengthen their muscle tone and coordination, as well as learn to follow instructions and hone their social skills.

Students love hearing the different sounds of the instruments, clapping out rhythm, jumping on beat and more. Oftentimes, students are invited to play the instruments, too.

This class encourages physical movement and exercise to enhance muscle tone and coordination; encourages age-appropriate social skills, following directions, participation in a group setting, and use of language skills; and fosters relationships between students and their families by meeting on a regular basis.
